From the mind of director Wes Anderson, Moonrise Kingdom is about two kids, Sam (Jared Gilman) and Suzy (Kara Hayward), who fall in love and run away from home on a small island. As they explore the island, a group of adults attempts to find them.
Wow, I love this movie. Wes Anderson has made some of my favorite movies, but this is probably his best. From the moment I saw Sam and Suzy together, I fell in love. In fact, I loved all of the characters in there quirky way. It’s a funny thing that I strive to have a relationship like those two 12-year-olds. It really felt like it was from the point of view of a child (and I mean that in the best way possible).
Even if I had no idea what was going on, I would still be captivated by the shots, which are interesting enough to be their own pieces of art. I only wish I could live in one of his movies, and see like that every day.
